The Everyday Canine
We’re so glad you’re considering The Everyday Canine for your dog.
Before booking services, we want to be transparent about how we work, what we do best, and what we expect from our clients. Clear expectations help ensure the best possible experience for both you and your dog.
Our Training Philosophy
We use a balanced, humane, dog-centered approach to training. Every dog is different, so training plans are tailored to the individual dog, their temperament, learning style, and goals.
We focus on:
-
Clear communication
-
Structure and consistency
-
Building reliable behaviors, not quick fixes
There is no “one-size-fits-all” solution in dog training.
Training Is a Process
Dog training is not instant, and results are not permanent without follow-through.
What training can do:
-
Build strong foundations
-
Improve communication and understanding
-
Create clarity and structure
-
Address behavior concerns with consistency
What training cannot do:
-
Replace owner involvement
-
Guarantee perfect behavior in all situations
-
Override genetics, environment, or inconsistent handling
Your dog’s progress depends heavily on what happens outside of training sessions.
Owner Involvement Is Required
Whether you’re booking private lessons, Board & Train, or ongoing services, your involvement matters.
We expect clients to:
-
Practice assigned exercises
-
Follow management and structure recommendations
-
Be consistent across household members
-
Ask questions and communicate honestly
Board & Train programs provide a foundation — not a lifetime guarantee.
Behavior Change Takes Time
Behavior modification (reactivity, fear, anxiety, impulse control, etc.) takes time and patience.
Progress is rarely linear. Setbacks, plateaus, and learning curves are normal — especially during transitions or changes in environment.
We will always be honest about what is realistic for your dog.
Daycare, Boarding & Board & Train Expectations
Our care is structured and supervised, not chaotic or “free-for-all” play.
Dogs may rotate through:
-
Play sessions
-
Enrichment activities
-
Walks or training
-
Rest or crate downtime
Not every dog benefits from constant group play, and participation is based on safety, stress level, and well-being on any given day.
Communication & Updates
We prioritize hands-on care and training over constant messaging.
-
Board & Train & Boarding clients receive at least one photo per business day
-
Daycare clients do not receive guaranteed daily updates
-
Responses occur within business hours
No news is often good news.
Health & Safety First
We maintain strict health requirements to protect all dogs in our care.
Proof of vaccinations and required testing is mandatory.
Dogs showing signs of illness, excessive stress, or unsafe behavior may be removed from services — always in the dog’s best interest.
Is The Everyday Canine the Right Fit for You?
We may be a great fit if you:
✔ Value structure and consistency
✔ Understand training is a partnership
✔ Are open to guidance and follow-through
✔ Want thoughtful, individualized care
✔ Access to no-charge pack walks and group class sessions
We may not be the best fit if you’re looking for:
✘ Instant results
✘ Minimal owner involvement
✘ Unstructured “free play all day” care
✘ Lifetime Guarantee
And that’s okay — the right fit matters.
Our Goal
Our goal is not just to train dogs — it’s to help dogs and owners communicate better, live more harmoniously, and succeed long-term.
If this approach aligns with what you’re looking for, we’d love to work with you!
